2009 National Championship
I just wanted to thank David Vega for running a great weekend for the Nats, and also to congratulate James Floate for his win! Well done.

Re: 2009 National Championship
I've never thought the Osebo were weak, but I have heard a few comments along those lines. Personally I think they're great (Brujah with intercept!) and you've proved it mate.

Re: 2009 National Championship
I always thought of Osebo as a survival clan. they have combat and walling capabilities but very little ousting capabiltiy, maybe a pulse.
I only got to watch the final game which was very protracted but would have love to see the other games floate played. Did he oust by fame/tension/dragonbound then bin/rescue/bin?

Re: 2009 National Championship
Floatey's deck, thanks champ!
-------------------
Here is the deck list with a bit of commentary;
1 Kamaria
1 Gengis
1 Martin Franckel
1 Ismitta
2 Kisha Bhimji
3 Homa
3 Massassi
1 Base HG
1 Ancestor Spirit
2 Blood Doll
1 Guardian Angel
1 KRCG
1 Mbare Market
1 Powerbase: Montreal 8
1 Enforcer
1 Anima Gathering
1 Pulse of the Canaille
1 Mr Winthrop
1 Shaman
1 Bowl of Convergence
1 IR Goggles 7
3 WWEF
3 FA
3 On the Qui Vive
3 Eyes of Argus
3 Eagle's Sight
2 Enhanced Senses
2 My Enemy's Enemy
3 Telepathic Misdirection
2 Quicken Sight 24
9 Torn Signpost
9 Immortal Grapple
4 Stunt Cycle
2 Blur
4 Flash
5 Pursuit
4 Sideslip
4 Taste of Vitae 41
__
80
This is the 3rd full iteration of this deck, I was after something that would perform consistently in a tournament environment but not be totally degenerate in terms of card selection and play. So this is still a fun deck where you get to bash people, but will still generally give you the cards you need when you replace. I have come to like stunt cycle a lot, I think of them as damage prevention that has the happy bonus of hitting people without celerity for 4. Massassi is important because her rush allows you to attack vampires you don't like or even just to get into combat when you don't have enough wake/intercept in your hand, and you want to cycle some cards.
How to improve it? Well the deck is down to the stage where i'm replacing 1 card at a time. I would really like to fit another enforcer, or maybe preternatural strength (extra hand damage in the end game for when people are out of cards). I agreed with someone a long time ago that we would stop playing with DI because it's too easy (you know who you are Chris Arthur! :>), but that's a fairly obvious inclusion. Maybe replace the blood dolls with vessels, as everyone is vessel crazy now - though I like not spending a pool, and I have often toyed with the idea of replacing the Guardian Angel with another intercept location like WMRH, but the prevent 1 damage/combat is great over a long game when you are blocking a lot of actions. Ancestor's Insight is a card that has often been in and out, +bleed and bleed reduction in the same card is awesome, but in this version I prioritised a 3rd eagle's sight and a 5th pursuit higher.
Floatey.

Re: 2009 National Championship
Simon from NZ won the LCQ with a Carna deck. He mentioned on the newsgroup he would post his decklist soon.
