Ebony Kingdom pre Release Sat 13/06/09

The Pre-release for Ebony Kingdom will be held at Nundah on Sat 13/06/09. Cost will depend on the number of players involved. I would expect around $25-$35 each.

Hoping to start by 10.30am, so if everyone can be there by 10am, we can start putting together decks as soon as possible.

Snorkels? Gee aren't we rich, straws and pvc pipe is all we can afford........

Surely there is a native alternative to hamsters, maybe a wombat??

Hamsters are so last century. We're into wererats at the moment. But when we can't find them, we'll use a bilby or two. There is a reason they're endangered.

Pre-Release went well:

Well done to the Doctor (John) for totally sweeping the table. He played table balance perfectly and completely disabled his predator (Me). I was forced to apply all my pressure backwards due to an overzealous Osebo.

Re: Ebony Kingdom pre Release Sat 13/06/09

We held our prerelease event for Ebony Kingdom in Brisbane yesterday,
Saturday 13th June. Unfortunately due to shipping delays, we didn't
see our pre release kit arrive until earlier in the week, which was
well past the official release date.

Nonetheless we held our event to experiment with the new cards. 9
players came forth to do battle. We ended up with 3 Osebo, 2 Guruhi,
2 Ishtarri and 2 Akunanse decks.

The finals table saw Jon Darbo (Ishtarri) -> David Wimberley (Guruhi) -

> Michael Balwin (Osebo) -> Andrew Lodar (Osebo) -> Rolf H. (Akunanse)

Congratulations to Jon Darbro who won the finals table by sweeping
with his Ishtarri deck, or as he puts it the "sneak bleed deck of
Legacies set". An early Entrancement theft of a Tunnel Runner from
Jon's predator gave him some extra forward pressure on his prey.
Whilst he slowly moved forward, the 2 Osebo decks and the Akunanse
deck all tore into one another, with the Osebo decks contesting Titi
Camarra.

As best as I could see Jon slowly worked his through prey after prey
and there was little the others could do to stop him.

Personally I found some of the new cards quite powerful. Playing a
Guruhi deck myself, I had a strong start on my first table (playing
Minion Tap and Giant's Blood on Nana Buruku the turn after she comes
out is a truly wonderful feeling) but soon felt the pain of Remnant of
the Endless Storm rushing backwards each turn, and Kamiri wa Itherero
doing 2 damage each turn from my predator, I soon had no minions left.

I can definitely feel a Remnant of the Endless Storm deck coming
soon...
